Stop Snapchatting At Concerts

Look, I get how great Snapchat is. This isn’t a rant against Snapchat.  It’s probably the most important social media platform out there at the moment.  Facebook is for old people, Twitter’s stock is crashing faster than they can tweet out updates about its crashing stock, and Instagram is for tea-tox coupons and “models”. Snapchat is the king right now, and yeah it gives us the power to document our lives for 24-hour windows, but we’ve been abusing the hell out of that power.  For a really straight-forward app, there’s a million ways to be an awful snapchatt-er, but there is no way to be worse than Snapchatting throughout a concert.

Hold Yourself Over Until Chance 3 And Listen To A Bunch Of Chance’s Features Since Acid Rap

May 13th can’t get here soon enough.

Seriously… it can’t get here soon enough.

Finally, the 3 year wait for a new Chance The Rapper album is almost over.  Surf was amazing, but it wasn’t his album alone.  He’s also put out plenty of incredible guest verses, helped put together Kanye West’s album, put together several incredible charities and open mic-nights for Chicago youth.  This is finally something every music fan should be excited about and if you haven’t marked your calender, do it.

If you’re like me, this album is what’s getting you through finals week.  Luckily for all of us, Elz the DJ went and put a mix together of every song Chance has featured on.  Now instead of trying to listen to all of them as you remember them, there’s one place you can get it all.

Check out Chance 2.5 below and bump it from here until Friday.

And here’s the track-list so you can jump around to your favorites:

Listen Up: Favorite Songs From The Past Week

So this is a new thing I’m going to be putting together every week, or at least I’ll try to.  As a new music blog, I think I need to just push out as much new music as possible.  I’ll learn to write about music a little more effectively, you get some great new music to listen to. It’s a win-win situation as far as I’m concerned.

Basically what this is going to be is a collection of all of my favorite songs from the past week.  I’m going to try and stick to a week cut-off, but if I find a new song that’s too good to not put up, there might be some songs from the past that make the cut.  Without further ado, lets dive into this. Enjoy it, and lemme know what you think.

Untitled 02 | 06.23.2014 – Kendrick Lamar

So Kendrick came out of nowhere and gave us Untitled Unmastered, a nice little album of a bunch of extra songs from the To Pimp A Butterfly studio sessions.  Continue reading
